The Inglewood Transit Connector (ITC) is designed to close Inglewood’s biggest transit gaps and make everyday travel easier. The Inglewood Transit Connector began as a single, automated people mover project connecting the Metro K Line to Inglewood’s sports and entertainment district. After months of workshops, open houses, and one-on-one meetings, the City heard a clear message: residents need relief now.
Project Overview
The Plan
The ITC combines transportation improvements that work together to create a safer, more connected, and more efficient mobility network. These include enhanced bus service, pedestrian improvements, parking and electric vehicle charging, bike amenities, and mobility hubs that bring together transit, parking, biking, and walking in convenient one-stop connection points. The plan also preserves for a future high capacity people mover system.
Phase I closes the first/last mile gap between the Metro K and C Lines and key destinations, helping residents, workers, and visitors get from the train to jobs, homes, businesses, and entertainment destinations and back again.
Phase 1 includes the creation of Mobility Hubs at the north and south end of the City, aimed at providing easy access to parking and public transit options, especially for people heading to popular city venues.
The Mobility Hubs will be located on and around Market Street, connecting to the Metro KLine, as well as on the south end of the City, connecting to the Metro C Line and the 105 freeway.
Hubs will have locations to access both private and city bus lines, park & ride and pick up & drop off services, as well as shuttle bus connections to local venues. They will also support rideshare services and other programs like Inglewood’s I-Ride and I-Line, which offer on-demand and local shuttle services within the city. These hubs will serve as transfer points to the wider Metro rail network and local bus lines, making it easier for residents and visitors to access the regional public transit system.

Phase 2 preserves the right-of-way, infrastructure, and operational flexibility needed to build the Automated People Mover (APM).

Inglewood is growing rapidly with new entertainment venues, housing, and jobs. Phase 1 will deliver three new Mobility Hubs along Market Street, a new pedestrian bridge connecting directly to the Downtown Inglewood K Line Station, streetscape improvements on Market Street, Queen, and Manchester Boulevard, and dedicated event-day bus lanes serving both the Metro K and C Lines — all in time for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games while creating lasting benefits for the community well beyond 2028.
