Consistent with the re-phased Inglewood Transit Connector Program (ITC), the City of Inglewoodis undergoing transit-related improvements in advance of the 2026 World Cup and 2028 Olympics.
As part of these early work efforts, the City-owned vacant lot located at 401 South Prairie Avenue is being transformed into a functional paved facility. Once completed, the facility will serve as a swing space to accommodate buses, and other mobility uses during major events.
The project includes paving the surface of the lot, resurfacing a portion of existing roadway along East Nutwood Street, replacing and widening existing sidewalks, installing conduit for future lighting, and installing new perimeter fencing.

The work is expected to begin in early April 2026 and continue for approximately 30 days.

What to Expect
Once construction begins, intermittent sidewalk closures and partial lane restrictions are expected along Manchester Boulevard, Prairie Avenue and East Nutwood Street. Improvement work will take place Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 5 PM each day. During this period, you may experience increased noise levels from equipment in use.
