City of Inglewood Authorizes Resolutions of Necessity for Properties Needed to Construct the Inglewood Transit Connector

INGLEWOOD, CA — The City of Inglewood held a public hearing on February 10, 2026 at 2PM as part of the ongoing efforts to advance the Inglewood Transit Connector (ITC) project.  The ITC project is pivotal for enhancing everyday mobility for all Inglewood residents, revitalizing downtown to support local businesses, and preparing Inglewood for major events like the 2028 Olympics.

The City’s goal has always been to reach voluntary agreements with the owners of the properties affected by the ITC, and to help the businesses operating in those properties to relocate as seamlessly as possible.  That remains our goal.

We have been in communication with the impacted property owners and impacted tenants for years about the possibility of an acquisition and provided formal notification of the intent to acquire the properties to all property owners and tenants last September.

We are working hard to achieve these goals through good-faith negotiations with the affected property owners. Over the past few months, we have also reached out and requested the cooperation of all tenants in order to provide relocation assistance to the affected businesses.

The February 10, 2026 hearing is a legally required step that the City is taking to preserve its ability to timely acquire by eminent domain the properties needed for the ITC in the event that we cannot reach agreement with the owners. However, we remain hopeful that we can reach mutually beneficial agreements.
